1-3-10 Sunday church/pot-luck

Yesterday I mentioned we were to be at a pot-luck today. I was completely prepared. I took along my protein drink. I had made a Wild Rice Waldorf Salad for the pot-luck. These pot-lucks are feasts with the most scrumptious dishes! All during our church meeting, you could smell these dishes heating in the oven! Unfortunately, by the time it was ready to serve, it had turned on me, and made me very nauseous again... just like Christmas Dinner at my Aunts. If I would have stayed, I would have been sick. We only live about a half mile away, so I went home, before everyone else ate. Neal and the kids stayed and enjoyed the meal. I came home and had my protein shake, then took a nap! =)

This evening we needed to use a Pizza Hut coupon that Shelby had gotten from school through a reading program. I just didn't think it would set well again, with the smells of the restaurant, so I wondered about getting the pizza and bringing it home, but Neal wanted the salad bar, etc... so Neal took the kids and went. I stayed home and had another protein drink. I am trying to drink more of these for meal replacements because I am not getting enough protein. Protein is extremely important in the diet to build and repair body tissue and muscles, and skin regrowth and repair and to prevent hair loss. We are to aim for 65 grams a day and I am getting about 30, so I have a ways to go. Each of my protein drinks has 14 grams.

It may seem like I am missing out on the food socializing. I do not feel this way at all. In some way, I actually wish I would never get my cravings back for these foods! I really wish I could just see food as a means to life... not living to eat! I am so determined to make this work though, and it surely has been worthwhile already. My health has improved, and as the weight comes off... it will get even better.

Tomorrow morning, Monday, the kids are back to school after the holiday break. They are bumming, but have said they are happy to be going back to see their friends. It will be great to get back to a routine. School, then activities until 7 pm. Glad I am feeling better enough to take care of my wonderful family!

All for tonight... Love you all... Eydie =)
